ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM

           

        In SMP Labschool UPI, the teachers always make sure that every student can express their thoughts, ideas and opinions freely with no restrictions or hesitations. They provide activities and tasks which are centered to the holistic development of the learners. Teachers make sure that the activities are anchored to he needs and interests of the learners. Through the use of checklists and anecdotal reports in order to look into the progress and development of each students is evident where teachers uses it every time they have activities. Whenever the teacher notice something wrong with a certain student, after the class he will call the attention and talk about what's on the mind of that learner. Also, the teachers would arrange quarterly meetings with the parents to discuss with them their child's problems, development and progress in the class.

TEACHING SYSTEM 

         

         The teaching system of SMP Labschool UPI focuses on the holistic growth of the students in which the lessons and activities given to them are anchored to the mandated of the government of Indonesia and the International standards. The teachers based their topics and activities from the mandated of the government and make instructional materials that are suitable to their lessons especially to the learners needs and interests because the learners are diverse. Every subject measure students' competency in terms of their attitude, skill and knowledge. Teachers also follow this order of scientific method: observing, questioning, exploring, associating, and communicating regardless of the subject that the teacher is teaching.

MATERIALS AND OTHER LEARNING RESOURCES 

     

        The school's learning materials and other learning resources are the books from the government and some International books. Also, students have instructional materials made through their creative minds and provided by the teachers themselves. The use of powerpoint presentation by the teachers is evident where there are facts presented about the lesson that the teachers would discuss.

MEASUREMENT AND

EVALUATION SYSTEM 

         

          The SMP Labschool UPI evaluation and measurement system is more on authentic assessment where students need to present a performance task showing what they learned from the topic they discussed. Teachers use checklists and rubrics as a basis in assessing each student to avoid biases. So that, students would not question their scores because it has a criteria that need to be followed. They also use traditional assessments such as paper and pencil tests to see and measure how far the students have learned from their discussions and able to know the weakness of the students in terms of what they've discussed.

GENERAL CURRICULUM

       

                The SMP Labschool UPI uses the Curriculum 2013.

       

       The Curriculum 2013 is a form of integrated work between the reconstruction of passing grade competence, suitability and adequacy, expansion, advancement of the materials, learning revolution and evaluation reform. Every subject supports all competencies (attitude, skill and knowledge) where subject is designed to tie one and another and it has basic competence which is tied by the core competence of each class.

​

         Instructional activities of all subjects have the same approach, that is scientific through observing, questioning, associating, experimenting, and networking. The teachers understand those scientific approaches and know how to apply it in the classroom, through it the teachers can play their roles during teaching and learning process because curriculum 2013 is based on process oriented, not product oriented.
