PROCEDURE OF TEACHING

The first thing I did when I had my teaching was I prepared myself and my lesson plan. I followed the lesson plan that my mentor showed and taught me. In doing my lesson plan, I considered the diversity of my learners and the syllabus.

Next, I prepared my visual aids. I made sure that it would catch the attention of my students and it would be interactive so that there is a teaching learning process. Also, it is centered on the needs and interests of the learners. I submit my lesson plan to my mentor and the PowerPoint presentation that I prepared.

Then, I teach. I follow what’s in my lesson plan. It serves me as a guide so that the class will be smooth, and all of my students would participate.

After the lecture that I had, I let my students do the activities that I prepared.

       Then, wrap-up and Closing.

TIME MANAGEMENT AND

ORGANIZING ACTIVITIES

Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities. In order to have the teaching learning process, it requires time management. It is essential in teaching especially in dealing with diverse learners. Teaching learning process would not be that successful without time management and organizing of activities.

Here is my time management strategy. First, I prepare my lesson beforehand, it includes the materials that I will be using, lesson plan and etc. Second, in everything I will do I always indicate how many minutes will it take. I have a watch in my wrist in order for me to look into so that I would not consume the time that I already indicate. Third, I prepare many activities so that I can give it to my students when there are waiting or in times of buffering moments for them to feel comfortable. Most importantly, I am firm with my rules and regulations so that my students will be disciplined and they will be time conscious in everything they do.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

At first, I find it hard to manage the class well. Actually, I am afraid that they will not listen to me because I am not one of them. Knowing that I'm a Filipino and not an Indonesian. I came from different country, I still learning about their language and culture. But, I noticed that the students were disciplined already by their teachers. They respect one another and they really look the teacher having a power of authority. I told them some rules and regulations that I established until I'm done with my practicum. Also, if they want to answer my questions they should raise their right hand in order to hear their thoughts and ideas and all of them can share. There were times they are noisy. I just handled it by getting their attention through various activities and tapped their shoulder. I always make sure to set the condition of the class as a positive environment. Free from any danger and biases so that all of them would feel at ease and feel at home.
